Great book. Some people said the contrary, but I appreciated it.

Intriguing language, loved reading it aloud.

A book about three carnivores - a lion, a shark, and a wolf - struggling to be accepted for what they are.

I found the entire story disquieting... Poor owl!

Not suitable for small children, even if the description says "5-8 years". Read it alone before giving it to you...

My Friends

Posted on August 24, 2018 at 1:45 PM

I didn't like this particular picture book. Parents don't raise their kids to be feral children, after all.

If there was a message, I didn't catch it. Someone says friendship and love. I don't see it.

Nice watercolor illustrations.

The Runaway Tractor

Posted on August 24, 2018 at 4:50 AM

Elementary story about an accident with a tractor.

Not very engaging. The text is dull and I don't like the font used.

The illustrations are okay.

There is a little yellow duck to find on every page.

At first I thought it was a dream sequence, but no, I was reading the story as it was actually meant to be read.

Too nonsensical for my taste, but I think kids will find it entertaining.

Nice illustrations, lots of blue.

Suitable for ages 6-9.

The Obstinate Pen

Tumford the Terrible

I didn't like the story: too confusing. I'm not sure a preschooler would understand it. The rhymes are awkward, the sentences too long.

The illustrations are too bright and I didn't appreciate the author mixing photographs and digital images.
